Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Antenna Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Antennae Submm Waves Section within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management DTEC. Within the section activities cover two main areas Preparing and monitoring Research and Development activities in the field of Antennas. A diverse range of tasks are carried out within the Antenna and SubMillimetre wave engineering domain, encompassing hardware, software and system aspects. Provide antenna technical support to ESA projects. This includes inhouse design and tradeoff studies to support both developments and reviews. Tasks will require the analysis and design of reflector antennas and arrays and the calculation of the interference effects between antennas and the spacecraft structure. The specific tasks you will be required to perform are Providing expert technical support to ESA projects, programmes and general studies throughout all project phases, specifically in the field of Telemetry, Tracking, and Control TTC and Payload Data Transmission PDT antennas Participating in project reviews and performing inhouse design and tradeoffs to support projectspecific technology developments Defining, initiating and monitoring RD activities covering both long and shortterm needs, specifically in the field of TTC and PDT antennas Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends and maintaining stateoftheart expertise in TTC and PDT antennas. This is a fulltime position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is July 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. At least 4 years of relevant industrial experience. Knowledge of antenna technologies and experience in TTC and PDT antennas, architectures and technologies as applied to space Knowledge of antenna Spacespecific constraints at RF, mechanical, thermal and environmental levels gained from the handling of spacecraft Flight Model development or RD development at high TRL level. Knowledge of antenna industrial manufacturing, testing processes, architecture and technologies. Expertise in using antenna modelling tools GRASP8, POS4, CHAMP, HFSS. TTC System Engineer for Small Satellite

Specific Tasks As part of the System team of Small Satellite project, the postholder will be responsible for the following tasks and activities for this 6 month temporary assignment System Avionics, System Software and System Communication from early definition phase through to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. Maintain interfaces with the relevant Prime contractors or subsystem responsibles industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned projects and ad hoc support. Follow up on technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. Requirements MSc. in Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science. Expert knowledge of System and more specifically to TTC subsystem with focus on RF, through the complete lifecycle including mission designoperations, systems design AIV, subsystem technologies. Knowledge of experience in the practical application of tailored engineeringquality standards to Small Satellite projects would be an asset. Languages skills Fluent English written and spoken.
