Scientists race to develop farm animals to survive climate change
2014-05-04 05:14:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
LA Times: When a team of researchers from the University of Delaware traveled to Africa two years ago to search for exemplary chickens, they weren't looking for plump thighs or delicious eggs. British scientists develop solar panels which work better on a cloudy day
2014-03-18 15:00:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Telegraph: In a departure from 'blue sky thinking' scientists in Britain have developed solar panels that work better on a cloudy day. Their material is as thin and flexible as cloth, and can be made in any colour and printed in sheets on a 3D printer. Although the technology is still at development stage, researchers hope that in future it could be used to make coats or bags which could charge phones or laptops or keep the wearer warm. It is so lightweight that it could also be fitted to homes cheaply...

At Eli Lilly labs, scientists strive to develop new medicines for less cost
2013-10-09 09:48:32| Food - Topix.net
For a man who has penned more than 500 medical articles, moves easily in the microscopic world of cell function, and has led the drug-discovery programs of two large pharmaceutical companies, Jan Lundberg was surprisingly candid about the challenges of developing new medicines.
