The 2015 BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology recently concluded at the Montreal Convention Center. With more than 50 exhibitors, this year’s Conference drew around 1,200 industry leaders from 725 companies, 50 countries, and 37 states, as well as the District of Columbia. Organized by BIO, event hosted more than 1,400 partnering meetings, a 40% increase from 2014 BIO World Congress. Educational programming included 300 speakers and 48 sessions in 8 educational tracks.

Reuters: Japan said on Friday it would slash its greenhouse gas emissions by 26 percent by 2030 from 2013 levels and would submit the plan to the United Nations later in the day as its contribution to a global summit on climate change in Paris in November.
