Revised from ANSI/AMCA Standard 500-L, ANSI/AMCA Standard 500-L-12 (Rev. 2015) establishes uniform laboratory test methods for louvers and includes test procedure for rating sand louvers. Revised from AMCA Publication 511, AMCA Publication 511-10 (Rev. 2015) dictates proper presentation of data and other required technical procedures for certification of air control devices under AMCA Certified Ratings Program and adds sand louver certification.

Water advisory issued for Sand Creek area in Oktibbeha County

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued a water contact advisory for a portion of Sand Creek in Oktibbeha County after a line blockage released 15,000 gallons of wastewater into the area. The advisory extends from the headwaters of the unnamed tributary that flows south of Highway 182 to the North Farm, on to the confluence with Sand Creek northeast of the Starkville Ford-Lincoln car dealership, then southeast past Highland Plantation, until the confluence with the northern tributary of Sand Creek south of East Starkville Church and Greenland Road, a MDEQ release states.

Addition of sand louvers to AMCA Certified Ratings Program enables comparison of manufacturers' ratings for sand rejection based on test data in accordance with ANSI/AMCA Standard 510-L (Rev. 2015) Laboratory Methods of Testing Louvers for Rating. Tests for sand rejection are being conducted by Thomas Bell-Wright International Consultants in Dubai. Certification of test data must be performed in compliance with AMCA Publication 511-10 (Rev. 2015), Product Rating Manual for Air Control Devices.
