Finland's UPM-Kymmene , the world's largest maker of graphic papers such as magazine paper and newsprint, missed quarterly core profit expectations due to weak paper deliveries and prices. The company said on Tuesday its profit was boosted by cost cuts and favourable exchange rates, but that was offset by weaknesses in its paper and energy divisions.

The first measure was however to ensure that a new chief executive officer, Dmitry Zubatjuk, was appointed and replaced the former chief executive officer Maks Grinfeld.

Clinton Green Street and Sewer Construction Update: April 23, 2015

As part of the Tabor to the River Program, Environmental Services continues construction on the Clinton Green Street and Sewer Project. This project will replace 3,800 feet of sewer pipe installed over 100 years ago, construct 24 green street planters and add two blocks of pervious paving. These improvements will protect public health, property and the environment, and reduce the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.

Southwest Ventilation Project Update: April 24, 2015

Construction continues on an Environmental Services project to reduce sewer odors and increase the capacity of the Southwest Parallel Interceptor sewer system to accommodate future growth. The contractor will install about 1,000 feet of 24-inch concrete pipe along SW Taylors Ferry Road, 800 feet of 48-inch concrete pipe along SW Virginia Avenue, and permanent odor controls east of SW Taylors Ferry Road.

UPDATE 1-Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron give up merger plan due to regulatory snag

Applied Materials Inc and Tokyo Electron Ltd said on Monday they have given up plans to merge in a deal that would have been worth more than $10 billion, citing problems in getting approval from U.S. antitrust regulators. U.S.-based Applied Materials had agreed in September 2013 to buy Tokyo Electron in an all-stock deal combining the world's No.1 and No.3 makers of chip-making gear as demand for their products slows and turning a profit becomes tougher.
