Sunnyside East Green Street and Sewer Project: Halfway through design and presentation on June 2

In spring 2015, Environmental Services began designing a project in your neighborhood to repair or replace 4,500 feet of 100-year-old public sewer pipe that is deteriorating due to age, and add 18 green street planters to remove 2.4 million gallons of stormwater from sewer pipes. These improvements will protect public health, property and the environment and reduce the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.

NW District Sewer Repair Project UPDATE

Environmental Services is continuing construction on a project to replace about 8,000 feet of sewer pipe that is in poor condition in northwest Portland. The pipes range in size from eight to 36 inches. The project will increase sewer system capacity and help prevent sewer backups in basements. The project is expected to last up to 18 months.

Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Repair Project Update: May 26, 2016

Work has started on an Environmental Services project to replace and repair 4,508 feet of aging sewer pipe. The work includes constructing 22 green street planters and planting trees to absorb rain and reduce stormwater runoff. The project will keep about 1.6 million gallons of stormwater out of sewers annually, increase sewer system capacity and reduce basement backups.

Powell Sewer Repair Project Construction Update: May 24, 2016

The maps posted at www.portlandoregon.gov/bes/powell show the anticipated construction schedule for the next three months, through July and a three week look ahead through June 10th. Work in each area will take a few weeks to complete and there will be periods of inactivity between construction phases. The current overall schedule tentatively shows the starting location of SE Mall Street east of SE 58th Avenue.
