Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Repair Project Update: November 9, 2016

As part of the Tabor to River Program, Environmental Services will soon complete construction on the Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Project. The work includes installing 22 green street planters, planting 11 trees, and repairing or replacing 4,508 feet of public sewer pipe. These improvements will extend the service life of our sewer system and protect public health, property and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.

SE Hawthorne-Salmon Area Green Street and Sewer Project: November 11, 2016

The project includes installing 23 green street planters, planting 100 street trees, and repairing or replacing over 10,000 feet of public sewer pipe. These improvements will extend the service life of our sewer system and protect public health, property and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.

Southeast Interceptor Sewer Repair Project: Proposed night work

Environmental Services has nearly completed design work for an inner southeast Portland repair of a deep interceptor sewer line that is deteriorating due to age. The repairs will extend the life of the sewer and protect public health, water quality and the environment. The city built the large-diameter Southeast Interceptor in 1954. It runs parallel to the Willamette River under inner southeast neighborhoods and is between 5 to 6 feet wide and 25 to 54 feet below the surface.

Hollywood/Grant Park Sewer Repair Project Update

Currently our contractor is finishing up the night work on NE Halsey. The night pipe work is expected to last through the week of November 14. Final trench paving will take place at a later date once temperatures and dry weather allow this phase of the work to be completed.
