Toshiba Corporation and United Technologies Corporation have announced plans to establish engineering centres in India, North America and Europe to support global innovation for heating, ventilating and air-conditioning products. "This cooperation is the first to result from the companies' recent agreement to further strengthen their strategic collaboration through their joint venture Toshiba Carrier Corporation ," Toshiba said in a statement.

Most notably Airports Council International-North America and the U.S. Travel Association have come out in favor of the Gulf carriers, the latter's CEO Roger Dow stating last week "We wish we did not have to stand apart from our friends in the airline industry on this or any other issue."
