Radnor-based Airgas, Inc. was sold Tuesday to French-based Air Liquide SA for $13.4 billion in a deal that creates one of the biggest industrial gas companies in the world, the companies said in a joint statement. Airgas shareholders will get $143 per share, a premium of more than 50.6 percent to Airgas' one month average share price, prior to the announcement of the transaction, the statement said.
