Patriot Coal filed for bankruptcy protection in May. Walter Energy announced it is filing for bankruptcy on July 15. Fitch Ratings reports that Walter's unsecured bonds are trading at or below $0.10, which means that poor recoveries in bankruptcy are expected.

NJ Transit chief: will try to hold hikes to single digits

The head of New Jersey Transit said Wednesday that a looming budget gap could force fare increases but that she will strive to make those less burdensome than the hikes instituted in 2010 that prompted heavy criticism from commuters. Executive director Ronnie Hakim told board members Wednesday that an $80 million budget gap is forcing her to look at all options, including fare increases.

PepsiCo India's revenue grew in double digits for nine months ended September 6, 2014 making the country amongst the fastest growing emerging markets for the global beverages and snack giant. "Our developing and emerging markets business has proven to be resilient with high single-digit organic revenue growth year-to-date, including double-digit growth in Egypt and India," PepsiCo Inc Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi said in an earnings call.
