Shares of Eli Lilly rose Wednesday in premarket trading a day after the drugmaker said a federal court upheld a patent protecting one of its top-selling drugs, the cancer treatment Alimta. The Indianapolis company said Tuesday after markets closed that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana ruled in Lilly's favor regarding the infringement of a vitamin regimen patent for Alimta.

New Jersey Transit Receives $71M Federal Sandy Relief Funding

Under goal established by Executive Order 13693, titled "Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade," federal agencies have until 2025 to get at least 30% of their electricity via renewable sources. Developed by NREL as a starting point, REopt Renewable Energy Optimization tool is an energy-planning platform that shows agencies which renewable energy projects make the most economic or technical sense for a building or site, and helps them prioritize how to meet energy targets.

Federal government files suit against Edison over 2009 fire

Just days before the federal statute of limitations would have run out, the government has filed a lawsuit against Southern California Edison in connection to a 2009 fire that primarily burned the San Bernardino National Forest east of Hemet. The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports that according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday, an equipment malfunction sparked the fire that burned almost 4 square miles, about 3 of which were national forest land.
