Used to securely attach components, microPEM® (Type MSIB™) inserts install permanently in range of plastic materials, from ABS to polycarbonate, and feature M1–M1.6 threads. Single mating screw completes joining process, and fasteners will install in either straight or tapered mounting holes. Symmetrical design eliminates need for insert orientation prior to installation, which is achieved by pressing insert into mounting hole using ultrasonic insertion equipment or thermal press.
