2013-10-15 22:03:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
LA Times: The Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to hear a utility industry challenge to the Obama administration's ability to impose environmental regulations to limit greenhouse gases from stationary sources such as power plants, factories and refineries. In a partial victory for industry, the justices agreed to decide whether the Environmental Protection Agency went too far when it extended its regulatory power over greenhouse gases beyond cars and trucks. Lawsuits likely as EPA declares US ethanol blend wall a 'reality'
2013-10-14 16:00:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Reuters: With two words, the U.S. environment regulator may be handing oil refiners the biggest win of a long battle to beat back the seemingly inexorable rise of ethanol fuel. In a leaked proposal that would significantly scale back biofuel blending requirements next year, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says the blend wall - the 10 percent threshold of ethanol-mixed gasoline that is at the crux of the lobbying war - is an "important reality". The agency's rationale for a cut in the volume...

EPA Changing its Mind on E15 with Potential Revised 2014 Biofuels Target
2013-10-13 00:25:45| AutomotiveDigest.com - Automotive Industry News
It looks like E10 could very well remain the blended ethanol-to-gasoline ratio instead of 15%, or E15, according to a leaked proposal last week from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA document referred to the E10 blend wall as an important reality and comes from more acceptance that the federal 2007 Renewable Fuel Standard biofuels mandate appears to be unreachable. If thats the case, courts are likely to see more case filings coming from biofuels industry associations focused on the EPA backing away from 2014 targets.............................The Article EPA Changing its Mind on E15 with Potential Revised 2014 Biofuels Target appeared first on Automotive Digest.
