NASA Green Tech Research might save commercial airlines billions.

Green-related technologies, developed and refined by NASA aeronautics researchers during past 6 years, could help airlines realize up to $255 billion in operational savings between 2025 and 2050. Developed under purview of NASA's Environmentally Responsible Aviation (ERA) project, said technologies could cut airline fuel use in half, pollution by 75%, and noise to near 1/8 of current levels. Information will be discussed at American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Sci-Tech Conference.

Comment: A comparison made of two satellite images showed that 1997's El Nino gathered strength in November, while this year's weather pattern will be affecting a larger swath of the high seas in December. This year, however, scientists believe that the prospect of witnessing the strongest El-Nino on record are pretty good.
