Astronomers discover water vapor on nearby alien planet
2014-02-26 17:11:44| Extremetech
The more advanced our space exploration technology becomes, the more radical things we find floating in the void of space. We've found a planet made of diamond, and a ones that have diamond rain. Astronomers have discovered that Mars once had falling snow, and that certain asteroids travel with their own moons. Now, astronomers have found that an alien planet has water vapor in its atmosphere, and it also happens to be one of the first exoplanets ever discovered.

Astronomers estimate 100 billion habitable Earth-like planets in the Milky Way, 50 sextillion in the universe
2013-04-04 16:23:22| Extremetech
Astronomers at the University of Auckland claim that there are actually around 100 billion habitable, Earth-like planets in the Milky Way. There are roughly 500 billion galaxies in the universe, meaning there is somewhere in the region of 50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 habitable planets. I'll leave you to do the math on whether one of those 50 sextillion planets has the right conditions for nurturing life or not.
