Months ago, Dallas school board member Miguel Solis shipped me a copy of a 1999 book called Show Me a Hero by former New York Times writer Lisa Belkin, about a late 1980s affordable housing/desegregation fight in Yonkers, an inner-rim suburb of New York. Solis told me I should read it, but I read something about the Chippewa fur trade instead.

Local logistics firm plans Dallas facility to accomodate growth in the plastics industry

Louisville-based A&R Logistics Inc. has entered an agreement with Omaha, Neb.-based Union Pacific Corp. to co-develop an export supply-chain operation to support the U.S. plastic resin industry. The two aim to establish a transportation and plastics packaging facility near Union Pacific's Dallas Intermodal Terminal to handle what's anticipated to be a significant increase in export plastic resins.
