The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear Dean Foods Co's appeal over claims the business conspired to restrict competition for bottled milk in the southeastern United States, forcing the company to face an antitrust suit over the matter. The high court's refusal to intervene means a January ruling by the Cincinnati-based U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals that revived the claims against Dallas-based Dean Foods remains intact.

Ryanair will go to court in London next week to persuade judges that it should be allowed to hold on to its near 30pc stake in Aer Lingus. The UK Court of Appeal will be hearing the case and it will be another key milestone in Ryanair's seven-year battle with regulators in Britain and the European Commission over its efforts to buy its smaller rival.

Ranchi, Nov. 13: Jharkhand High Court has directed the state government to seek permission from the state election commission to renew the mining lease of Steel Authority of India within a week, failing which the PSU would be free to resume operations. The court of Justice S. Chandrashekhar today ordered the PSU to give an undertaking for abiding by the terms and conditions fixed by the mines department for renewal of the mining lease.
