But so was the previous weeks before it was revised upward! As can be seen in Figure 1, the number of new positive cases handled by diagnostic labs fell to 274 for the week that ended March 8. The National Animal Health Laboratory Network curiously dates each week with its first day so you will see that number opposite March 2 in NAHLMs publications. That number is significantly below the 306, 310 and 311 cases of the previous three weeks but still very, very high. read more

Virginia taking long-term review of N.C. coal ash spill

Virginia is examining any potential long-term environmental damage from a North Carolina coal ash spill on the Dan River and will hold Duke Energy "fully accountable" if any is found, the director of the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality said Monday.
