Thousands of businesses could receive clearance to fly drones two years from now under proposed rules that the Federal Aviation Administration unveiled Sunday, a landmark step that will make automated flight more commonplace in the nation's skies. At the same time Sunday, the White House issued a presidential directive that will require federal agencies for the first time to publicly disclose where they fly drones in the United States and what they do with the torrents of data collected from aerial surveillance.

Flying Unmanned Aerial Systems , commonly called drones, for commercial use has been almost entirely banned in the United States, but Sunday morning's announcement would change that.

The U.S. aviation regulator proposed on Sunday that people flying drones for commercial purposes obtain a special pilot certificate, stay away from bystanders and fly only during the day. UPS could navigate St Augustine deliveries by drone

United Parcel Service, operator of the big brown delivery trucks in St Augustine, informed Historic City News today that one of their vendors may have come up with a solution for navigating the city's tight, congested streets; providing much needed relief for our never-ending traffic dilemma. AMP Electric Vehicles and the University of Cincinnati have developed the "horsefly" drone that will be available as an optional add-on for electric-powered trucks under consideration by UPS.
