Additionally, these countries have increased their tonnage of these imports over 30 percent to 800,000 tons from 600,000 tons in the first quarter of 2015, more than doubling their share between 2012 and the end of March, 2015.

The CEO of United States Steel Corp. , Pittsburgh, says President Obama's singing of Trade Promotion Authority and Trade Adjustment Assistance legislation into law in late June will help protect steel industry jobs in the United States. "I commend President Obama for strengthening our trade enforcement laws by signing TPA and TAA," U.S. Steel president and CEO Mario Longhi says in a statement released to the media.
