Deutsche Telekom activates first 5G antenna sites in downtown Berlin

(Telecompaper) Deutsche Telekom has activated a set of six commercial 5G antennas in downtown Berlin as it continues to prepare for the roll-out of 5G in 2020. The antennas, contained in three cells, are based on the 5G New Radio (5G NR) standard and are the first in Europe to operate and transmit a 5G data connection over a live network in real-world conditions, said Telekom.

We are looking for an EMC and Antenna Measurements Engineer E3 to join our Ajilon Technology Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Ajilon Technology Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Ajilon is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 115 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. Specific tasks to be performed Supporting projects for EMC throughout all phases with review, analysis and assessment of test results Witness EMC tests and perform tests in the TECEPE EMC lab Act as support to ESA Payload Safety Review Panel for el. safety and EMC. General tasks to be performed Functional Support in EMC engineering to Agencys Projects throughout all phases of Project life cycle. This includes Definition and assessment of EMC requirements at both System and Equipment level. Definition and assessment of EMC test and verification procedures of spacecraft equipment and systems. Electromagnetic and circuital analyses. Assessment of EMC test results, EMC nonconformances and Request for Waivers. Simultaneous projects in various stages allows a unique and exciting combination of tasks from early development until endtoend performance evaluation Interact directly with suppliers, reviewing unit level and subsystem performance and interfaces for suitability Act as a main technical interface toward the costumers and the suppliers for technical and programmatic aspects regarding the antenna subsystem Perform antenna architecture tradeoffs and performance analysis, including definition of requirements and SOW Interaction with the Payload System Engineers team and the Satellite AIT Manager to ensure adequate preparation and execution of the full payload and satellite test campaign Interaction within the project system areas Perform of antenna level tests and satellite inorbit test Support the Systems Engineering Team in the standardisation and improvement processes.
