ResponsibilitiesDuties The general activities to be supported by this service are Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation Update of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Participation in the Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Routine and Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Spacecraft Performance Analysis QualificationsExperience University degree or equivalent education in Electric or Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering. Essential Skills Spacecraft Flight Operations knowledge, including FDIR, in particular for the Data Handling Subsystem Earth Observation Payload Operations experience. Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard. Hands on familiarity with operational tools MCS, Simulator, DB browser, MOIS or equivalent tool. Experience in working in an operational environment. Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation. Experience with anomaly investigations. Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems. Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and operational phase routine Ability to work independently and with little supervision. Ability to work in an organised manner, with good reporting skills and reliable deadline meeting. Coordination skills with internal Flight Control Team, and external payload data centre, Satellite developer, simulator developer parties. Fluency in English. Desirable Skills Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites. Familiarity with OBSM. We are looking for an operational engineer to join our Copernicus Mission Control Applications and Tools Competence Area to drive forward our success. Your responsibilities You will be responsible for providing support to Copernicus ground segments engineering and maintenance of relevant Mission Control Applications. As a technical leader, you will develop solutions that will shape the strategy of the Mission Control Support team. The role involves leading the maintenance and engineering applications dedicated to our flight operations. There is an opportunity to support the development phase of new Copernicus systems to enhance the exploitation of operational satellite systems including the design, development and testing of applications for new ground segment systems. You will work with contractors to adopt costefficient solutions and ensure that Service Level Agreements are delivered. Working within the team, you will collaborate with team members to enhance the knowledge and skill base within the team. The ideal candidate Along with a university degree in engineering or a scientifically relevant subject, you should be a collaborative team member with proven experience as a technical lead, preferably within a 247 operational environment. You will have extensive experience in the domain of Mission Control Supporting Applications and in maintaining large scale software systems. You will need to demonstrate your resilience and organisational skills in a fast paced, high availability environment. This is an opportunity to demonstrate technical leadership, sharing concepts that will enhance the performance of our Mission Control Support team. You need to be experienced in software development lifecycles along with the integration, testing and acceptance of complex software applications.
