2014-04-22 11:51:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed

He added that the partys manifesto for the next election would include renewable energy commitments. According to the Telegraph, Miliband said, I understand the reasons why people worry about wind turbines in particular places. Brits: We Prefer Onshore Wind Farms Over Fracking
2014-04-17 03:50:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed

When given the choice, 62% said they would rather have a wind farm in their local council area than a fracking site, with just 19% preferring to have fracking nearby. The research comes as Ecotricity founder Dale Vince today accused the Government of contradicting its own research on public attitudes to onshore wind. The Department...
United Kingdom: Tory plan to limit onshore windfarms will raise energy bills, engineers warn
2014-04-10 00:01:00| Climate Ark Climate Change & Global Warming Newsfeed
Guardian: A Conservative party plan to limit the number of onshore windfarms would drive up household energy bills, according to the UK's most eminent engineers. Replacing a single banned onshore turbine with offshore wind power, which is more expensive, would cost 300,000 a year more in subsidies, with the extra cost being added to bills, the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) said. The engineers also said a cap on turbines would make it harder to meet the UK's legally binding targets for renewable energy...
