Global Alliance for Energy Productivity announced Rachel Kyte, CEO and Special Representative of UN Secretary General for Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All), as Steering Committee chair. Previously, Kyte served as Vice President and Special Envoy on Climate Change at World Bank Group. Alliance President Kateri Callahan expressed confidence "that Rachel will be an invaluable asset" and said she looks forward to working with Kyte on strengthening global energy productivity.

NFPA elects Tricia Fulton as Chair of Board of Directors.

NFPA has elected Tricia Fulton, the CFO at Sun Hydraulics, to be the Chair of the Board of Directors for 2016–17 fiscal year. Fulton became part of NFPA Board of Directors in 2012 and was elected to Executive Committee in 2014. During her time on Board, she was particularly involved in the Inclusiveness Strategic Task Force, which set recruiting strategy, particularly aimed at distributors, and also set strategy to increase engagement among existing members, particularly younger professionals.

BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH) announced that Jim Greenwood, BIO president and CEO, has been elected as BVGH Board Chair for 3-year term. BVGH President Jennifer Dent called Greenwood's leadership of the BVGH Board "an important signal to the global health community of BIO member companies' ongoing commitment to solving global health issues." Regarding the latter, Dent cited "the eradication of neglected infectious diseases such as Ebola."

Ben Bernanke, who led the U.S. Federal Reserve through the nation's worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, will be the guest of honor at the Economic Club of Grand Rapids' 29th Annual Dinner. The dinner on Tuesday, May 31, also will honor Dan DeVos, chairman and CEO of DP Fox Ventures, as the 2106 Business Person of the Year.
