David Parker, the high-energy founder, chairman and CEO of Covenant Transportation Group, said Feb. 19 that some upper-level executive movement at the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based trucking company is the opposite of him slowing down. Covenant said Joey Hogan, an 18-year veteran executive at Covenant, was promoted to president of Covenant Transportation Group, a position formerly occupied by Parker.

Ralco announced today that Brian Knochenmus has been appointed president of Ralco, a 44-year-old science and technology company. Knochenmus, 39, served as vice president of Ralco for more than a decade prior to succeeding his father, Jon Knochenmus, as president. Amgen Inc and Cytokinetics Inc said on Tuesday their experimental drug for chronic heart failure showed significant improvement in cardiac function in the second part of a mid-stage study. The 448 patients in the trial were given an oral formulation of the drug omecamtiv mecarbil for 20 weeks and observed for 24 weeks, the companies said in a joint statement.
