Ryanair hit for millions of euro in international Chinese banking scam

Ryanair has been targeted in an international scam that siphoned millions of euro from its bank accounts, the Irish Independent understands. It is believed that thieves managed to initiate a single fraudulent transaction using a Chinese bank when stealing the money from the airline, Europe's biggest low-cost carrier and Ireland's second biggest company.

Ryanair expects to cut its fares by between 10pc and 15pc over the next two years as the benefits of lower oil prices are passed on to consumers, Michael O'Leary has said. Asked by French newspaper 'Le Journal Du Dimanche' whether prices could fall from current levels, the Ryanair chief executive said: "Absolutely, by at least 10pc-15pc over the next two years.

Ryanair chief will vote 'Yes' in same-sex marriage

Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary has said he will be voting 'Yes' in the upcoming referendum on same-sex marriage. Speaking to the Sunday Independent at the annual sale of the Angus bulls and heifers he breeds at his Westmeath stud farm and home, Gigginstown House, Mr O'Leary confirmed his voting intentions, but pointedly declined to enter into the wider debate on the issue, saying it was up to the Irish people to decide for themselves.
