Qualcomm wins initial ruling for Apple ban in US, other patent declared invalid by ITC

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm and Apple have each won decisions at the ITC in their ongoing patent battle. An administrative judge of the International Trade Commission found that Apple infringed Qualcomm's power management patent and recommended the issue of an exclusion order preventing sales of the infringing Apple products in the US. At the same, the full ITC panel found Apple did not infringe another patent held by Qualcomm.

Invalid EU shoe anti-dumping duties may result in refunds

The European Commission has indicated that to just-style that it may accept a European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling against "anti-dumping" duties imposed on leather footwear made in China and Vietnam imported into the European Union (EU). The decision means there may now be claims for refunds of duties paid by retailers.
