Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Information Management Consultant at EUMETSAT. Tasks The key person shall work as a member of the Information Management team part of the Information Management and Configuration Management Competence Area within the Process assurance and Management Support PRS Division, in order to provide support to GEO and LEO Programme developments. For the execution of hisher tasks, the key persons will make use of the EUMETSAT Documentation Management Tool. The expected tasks will typically include Manage documentation according to existing working practices and procedures Support preparation of data packages, i.e. large numbers of documents for programme milestone reviews Check external documents against commitments of external contractors Import external documents into the EUMETSAT Documentation Management Tool DMT, including data packages in the applicable documentation folder structures Perform systematic checks on the documents metadata to assure all information are available to properly manage documents and their workflow Create and maintain folder structures in the DMT Manage baseline documentation under configuration control according to applicable Configuration Management working practices and procedures Maintainreview plans, procedures, working practices and templates as necessary Generate reports on documentation status, as requested Support users on implementing applicable documentation management working practices and procedures Contribute to the review of applicable documentation management working practices and procedures, and propose improvements as much as possible of general applicability Support related administrative tasks as requested. Essential requirements Full secondary education as a minimum, with specific training or education in information, documentation or configuration management. An academic background is a distinct advantage. The keyperson shall have following experience Two to three years of experience with a technical, administrative or librarian role Practical experience in management of technical information and documentation, preferably in an IT or engineering sector, in support to a large set of users Proven experience in applying information, documentation or configuration management processes Proven experience in the use of an electronic documentation, information or configuration management tool, implementing an electronic workflow Proficient knowledge of use of MSOffice, MSAccess, Acrobat and scanning methodology, including experience in managing complex documents structure, related templates, layout and formatting Experience with relational databases will be an advantage, as well as experience in managing information generated using engineering tools e.g., design tools, requirements management tools, etc. In addition, the keyperson shall have demonstrated behavioural skills in Team working Quality Orientation Planning, Organising Monitoring Action and Achievement Orientation Service and Customer Focus. Desirable requirements Experience in Aerospace Industry will be an advantage. Mission description The selected candidate will initially support the test and validation of any of the current or future European Space Agency missions. Responsibilities The Flight Dynamics Consultant will support activities at the customer site ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany and work on tasks such as Orbit and attitude manoeuvre preparation, Manoeuvre performance analysis, orbit determination and propagation, trajectory optimisation, product generation, software test and validation, support for simulation campaigns and critical operations Attitude command file generation, actuator and sensor calibration, attitude determination Conceptual design studies for the operational flight dynamics system, operations preparation and planning Flight dynamics software test and maintenance Adaptation of algorithms to new and exotic space environments, adaptation to new interfaces and functional requirements, migration to new hardware andor operating systems Development of test tools and analysis of test outcomes This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in August 2015. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have an university degree, in a in astrophysics, mathematics, space engineering. Essential skills are Exceptional physical insight, combined with rapid execution and a practical and rigorous approach to problem solving Experience devising and realising mathematical algorithms to satisfy demanding scientific applications, ideally using Fortran, C and Matlab User level experience with the UNIX operating system fluency in English spoken and written, as English is the working language Desirable skills are Knowledge of space flight dynamics and spacecraft attitude determination and control subsystems Some experience in scripting with Unix tools Some experience with flight dynamics operations Familiarity with mission analysis approach including software tools at ESOC Some experience as a resident consultant operating onsite within a customer organisation Experience with an international satellite organisation or similar entity The position requires a great deal of independence and selfmotivation. Job description Design, implement, test, operate and evaluate software for near realtime precise orbit determination. The software will support current and future earth observation missions operated by our customer, an international space organisation located in Darmstadt, Germany. These current and future low orbiting earth missions belong to the MetOp and Jason families. They all generate payload data requiring precise knowledge of the spacecraft position for correct interpretation. Responsibilities The Flight Dynamics Consultant will support activities at the site to work on tasks such as Support operation of the near real time NRT Precise Orbit Determination POD software embedded inside the GRAS instrument operational product processing facility Support the design, implementation, testing and operational validation of new versions of the operational NRT POD software Maintenance and evolution of an offline POD environment Compare operational NRT POD performance with results from the offline POD environment to identify potential improvements in the operational software Monitor the performances of the GRAS support network, providing NRT solutions for the GPS constellation. Evaluate the impact on the operational solution and identify potential improvements to the operational software Support reprocessing activities for the inflight satellites as well as for partner radio occultation satellites Cosmic, Champ, Grace Generate precise reference orbit and estimated manoeuvres for the MetOp satellites, in support of flight dynamics and satellite performance evaluation. Ensure availability of POD support for the future satellites MetOpC and Jason3 Support design, implementation, test and validation of the operational NRT POD software for future mission Support the design, implementation, test and operational validation of NRT GPS solutions for future mission Prepare the offline POD environment to compute the most accurate POD solution for any new mission, shortly after launch Support systemsmission analysis on future missions related to POD topics, including development of required prototypes. This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in January 2016. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have an university degree, in a relevant discipline or other suitable qualification together with 5 years experience in low earth orbit precise orbit determination. Essential skills are Knowledge of GNSS, POD and geodesy principles Experience with operational POD of LEO satellites Experience developing operational POD systems fluency in English spoken and written, as English is the working language Desirable skills are Operational GNSS orbit and clock estimation Familiarity with configuration control practices for operational software Skills in the area of software development and validation Experience with one or more of the following Fortran, C, TCL, Java, Python Familiarity with statistical and graphical analysis tools. This is a permanent position for an Engineering Consultant with at least 10 years specific experience in Quality and Product Assurance in Aerospace Space programmes. You will require good interpersonal and mediation skills together with experience on QAPA processes on satellite Ground Segments and satellite Mission Control and Operations. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in September 2015 or soon after. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation GEO satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The consultant will be part of the GEO QA team whose work encompasses the implementation of QA processes in support of client activities. The following attributes are essential for this position 1. Significant handson experience in QAPA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control, and QAPA performance metrics 2. Knowledge and application of aerospacespace Product and Quality Assurance standards 3. Knowledge of and experience in applying ISO 9001 Standards 4. Multiyear experience in the implementation of QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as ground segment systems. 5. Experience in providing QA support to SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle. Experience in following HWSW products integration and verification 6. Significant handson experience in using Microsoft Office Suite. 7. Capability of producing and releasing in autonomy Minutes of Meetings and QA reports 8. Experience in application of risk management and lessons learned processes The main working language is English and candidates must be fluent in both reading and writing but knowledge of French also would be advantageous.
