Spain's interior minister, Jorge Fernandez Diaz, has said that the country is facing its highest level of terror threat since 2004 due to the danger posed by Islamic State jihadists, reported Agence France-Presse. The NYPD took steps Friday to bring private security officials up to speed on three deadly attacks overseas that a top city police official said appear to be part of a disturbing increase in terror-related activity. John Miller, NYPD deputy commissioner of intelligence and counterterrorism, said though no specific intelligence from Friday's attacks was related to New York City, they follow six cases in the metropolitan area in which people have been arrested after being accused of being in various stages of taking action in the Islamic State's name.
