CPO Sales Fell for First Time Since June 2014

Certified pre-owned (CPO) sales fell on a year-over-year comparison for the first time since June 2014; however, year-to-date sales are still more than 10% ahead and four brands posted best-ever sales results. There were 220,416 certified sales that took place in August. That was off 1.1% from August 2014, according to a summary of CPO sales from Autodata Corp. Gap backs annual profit forecast after retailer confirms net income, sales fell in 2Q

Gap is keeping its fiscal-year profit forecast unchanged after further struggles in the second quarter marked by weakness at its namesake and Banana Republic stores that offset rising sales at Old Navy. US new-home sales fell 6.8 pct. in June; possible sign of hot real estate market cooling off

Fewer Americans bought new homes in June, a possible sign that the real estate market might not be as hot as it appeared at the start of summer. The Commerce Department said Friday that new-home sales slumped 6.8 per cent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 482,000.
