The patent-pending starches - which can be labeled as 'starch' or 'corn starch' in the US, Canada, China, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America - have a clean taste and a white color.

Sweetener competition sees Tate & Lyle issue second profit warning

Shares in Tate & Lyle fell by 17% as the food ingredients firm issued its second profits warning this year, blaming fierce competition in the sweetener market and supply problems in the US caused by a harsh winter. Ahead of the publication of its half-year results in November, the British-based group said it has had to slash prices for its sucralose sweetener to counter fierce competition from the Chinese market.
