The postholder will be assigned to the System Modelling and Functional Verification Section of the Software Systems Division. Initial assignment will be as fulltime support to the EarthCARE satellite project. In performing his tasks, he will be further supported by experts from the Technical Directorate as required Apart from the generic position requirements, the candidate is expected to have Good experience in system testing and payloads functional tests would constitute an additional asset. A proven ability to work in a project team with a sense of cooperation and negotiation with colleagues at ESA or within Industry is also required The function will require the availability of the incumbent to witness tests and to participate to AIT activities for relatively long periods abroad incl. Japan, up to several months in the case of the satellite launch campaign.

Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate will have A Masters level degree in Electrical Aerospace Engineering or equivalent. An absolute minimum of 4 years, but ideally at least 6 years, relevant professional working experience, including mandatory experience in functional AIT of spacecraft Extensive experience of satellite system level functional and electrical testing. Familiarity with the ECSS standards in verification and system engineering. Familiarity with system modelling methods and tools. Experience in requirements engineering and verification engineering with use of related tools e.g. DOORS. A proven ability to work in a project team with a sense of cooperation and negotiation with colleagues e.g. at ESA or within Industry. Desirable Practical experience of working for at least one complete satellite test campaign in an AIT role would be an asset.
