Indiana Gov. Mike Pence defended the new state law that's garnered widespread criticism over concerns it could foster discrimination and said Sunday it wasn't a mistake to have enacted it. Pence appeared on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" to discuss the measure he signed last week prohibiting state laws that "substantially burden" a person's ability to follow his or her religious beliefs.

Thousands of people marched in Indiana's largest city Saturday to protest a state law that supporters contend promotes religious freedom but detractors see as a covert move to support discrimination against gay people. Waving signs reading "No hate in our state" and carrying rainbow flags, a crowd of at least 2,000 people, including Democratic elected officials, rallied the same day that business-rating website Angie's List put on hold its plans to expand its Indianapolis operation, citing the new law.

Angie's List put expansion on hold, citing new Indiana law

The founder of Angie's List says the consumer review service is suspending its plans for a $40 million expansion in Indianapolis because of Indiana's new religious objections law. Founder and CEO Bill Oesterle said in a statement Saturday the expansion that called for adding 1,000 jobs over five years is now on hold "until we fully understand the implications of the freedom restoration act on our employees."
