The key person shall work in the EUMETSAT Remote Sensing and Products Divisions RSP Atmospheric and Imagery Applications group AIA. Within the EUMETSATs Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS, RSPs role is to develop, implement, validate, and evolve operational observational products from EUMETSAT and agreed third party satellites. Additionally, RSP provides support to EUMETSATs future programmes. The geophysical products most relevant to this post are those involving different cloud processes e.g. atmospheric instability, cloud formation, and precipitation derived both from geostationary and polar orbiting satellite data. The Consultant will also participate, if necessary, in the operations preparation, launch and commissioning phases of new satellites. The key person shall analyse, support the design, operational implementation and validation of the agreed changes to product algorithms. Similarly, Shehe shall support the design, implementation and validation of new product algorithms. The work is carried out in small project teams consisting of relevant experts. Shehe will also be involved in the analysis and resolution of anomalies relating to the product generation software. The tasks of the Consultant will typically include Analysis of product change proposals Design, implementation and validation of updatednew algorithms Documentation of changes related to product updates Preparation of technical notes on product implementation issues Development, maintenance and update of product generation monitoring software and the corresponding database Monitoring and operating the product generation facilities Visualisation and analysis of geophysical products PROFILE In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, physics, mathematics or remote sensing, the key person shall have minimum of 5 years of experience in operational product generation from satelliteremote sensing data. In addition, experience in validation of geophysical products from satellite data is highly desirable. Furthermore, the key person shall have practical, demonstrable experience with Algorithm software development using FORTRAN 9095 IntelGNULinux andor IBMPOWERAIX environments Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification and their documentation Source code control systems Subversion andor git Anomaly correction processes Python and IDL programming languages Common meteorological data formats, i.e., BUFR, CAP, GRIB, HDF5, and netCDF Authoring clear and concise technical documentation Practical, demonstrable experience of the following will be advantageous Algorithm software development using CC programming language The operating systems GNULinux and AIX Relational databases using SQL How to apply Please consider the following points before applying Please submit your complete application documents in English. Job Description The consultant will be integrated into the MTG MOF Team. The tasks of the Consultant will typically include During the remaining procurement phase Supporting the MTG ground segment team in following the MTG Mission Planning System MPS and procedure edition and execution tools procurement, Participating in reviews for the MPS, the procedure edition and execution tools, and interfacing facilities, analysing and reviewing relevant MTG documentation, preparing technical notes and attending technical meetings Participating in MPS, procedure edition and execution tools testing e.g. Factory and OnSite Acceptance Testing and related activities at facility and system level. Analysing and reporting on the test results, in particular with respect to their suitability for requirement verification and validation Creation and execution of test procedures on the assigned MOF elements in order to validate their readiness for operational usage Participating in the installation of the MPS, procedure edition and execution tools at EUMETSAT, while fulfilling the configuration management requirements. Verifying the facility installation Defining the Mission Planning, procedure edition and execution tools operational implementation database structures, etc Monitoring and steering the lifecycle for MPS, procedure edition and execution tools related anomaly reports ARs and nonconformance reports NCRs Interacting with internal users, suppliers and partner organisations Maintaining internally generated tools and creation of new internal tools, mainly developed in Java, C and C. During the operations preparation and routine operations phase Performing routine and contingency scheduling tasks using the MPS and procedure edition and execution tools Performing preventative maintenance on the MPS and associated tools according to working practice Raising anomaly reports when necessary and monitoring their resolution through attendance at appropriate review boards Responding to mission planning related anomalies and operational contingencies promptly Maintenance of mission planning documentation such as the User Guide document and the Operational Implementation document Liaising with external entities where necessary in order to fulfil joint operations requirements. Maintaining documentation concerning this Maintaining a detailed understanding of the operational needs that are met through mission planning Performing the maintenance, update, validation and documentation of the MPS operational implementation in all mission phases Rolling out of new versions of the MPS operational implementation following approved configuration management procedures Contributing to the definition of any changes to the supplied mission planning application software or to inhouse supporting software that could lead to performance andor ergonomics improvements Contributing to the definition and raising of Engineering Change Proposals and Change Requests concerning mission planning, and attending ECP Review Board meetings if necessary Contributing to the operational validation of new versions of mission planning application software, including testing of ARNCR correction and new functionality Participation in any necessary meetings and reviews long term scheduling, schedule consolidation, anomaly review boards, etc Training of personnel in mission planning tasks as required. Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Consultant shall have experience of spacecraft andor ground segment procurement. ACS is looking for a person to provide Enduser and Administrative Consultancy Support in SAP Financials TASKS 1. To support daytoday operation of the EUMETSAT SAP System with emphasis on SAP Financials related topics by Providing SAP application support to EUMETSAT endusers in the use of the SAP ERP and BI Reporting system. This comprises navigation, functional support, particularly in the Financials area and also ESS and workflows functional support. Providing root cause analysis and reporting for end user requests and problems reported for example via IT Service desk, also in cooperation with Key users and SAP expert Consultants, user error, client setup, SAP Bugs, Customisation errors, missing authorisations etc., plus incident resolution in case of direct enduser support, Triggering problem bugs resolution and communication of all details necessary for effective resolution by SAP expert consulting or SAP global support, including timely followup 2. To support the implementation of enhancements in the Financials Area by Gathering, eliciting and documenting user requirements, Documenting system requirements and issuing service requests for SAP enhancements Cooperating with SAP expert consultants and SAP ERP Engineering and Maintenance Manager for providing agreed enhancement functionality, conducting verification testing, supporting implementations, rollouts and similar activities in a continuous improvement environment and providing respective feedback Conducting verification testing for system changes system prior to user acceptance validation Coordination of system change documentation, ensuring uptodate and accurate system documentation. Continuous and uptodate monitoringfollowup of the system transport requests provided for system changes Initiating and coordinating the system change management process by providing and collecting change details and creatingissuing the related change management forms for the changes to the system functionality, Identifying testing, documentation, training materials, etc. that may be affected by system changes and following up the implementation of the required changes in a timely manner. 4. To support enduser related and processrelated documentation and trainings with special emphasis on SAP Financials by Highlighting end user training needs in the area of SAP Financials Coordinating SAP Financials related end user training initiated via the SAP Key User Group, direct requests or as a result of Service Desk action, including training reports and training material Coordinating and followingup changes to enduser documentation, process documentation, test documentation etc. Providing ad hoc and scheduled end user training in cooperation with the SAP Key User Group or as part of the EUMETSAT induction programme. The consultant is expected to have the following skills and experience Knowledgeexperience in accounting principles and SAP Financial concepts in areas such as GL accounting, AP, AR, Asset Management, Cash Management, Travel Management and integration to budgeting, procurement and sales processes, ideally including public sector management Basic working knowledge of SAP Financials system configuration, setup and SAP system change processes Proven experience in providing SAP Financials enduser support, and being proficient in using the SAP ERP system, preferably the SAP ERP Financials, Experience of working in a SAP Support Team, preferably in a public sector organisation comparable to EUMETSAT, with involvement in a continuous improvement process.
