Tunisie Telecom picked as preferred bidder for Malta's Go
2016-05-24 16:15:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Malta operator Go has selected Tunisie Telecom as the preferred bidder to take over the company. Batelco was the other known company that offered to buy Go. Go said in a statement that the Tunisian operator offered EUR 2.87 per share for the company. This is slightly above the company's recent trading range but below a high of EUR 3.60 per share in the past year. Go's largest shareholder is Dubai-based Emirates International Telecommunications, with a 60 percent stake. EIT is also a shareholder in Tunisie Telecom. The latter confirmed its offer for Go and said it expects significant synergies from combining with the Maltese operator.

Go to pick preferred bidder later this month
2016-05-09 10:37:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Malta operator Go said it aims to select later this month a preferred bidder to acquire the company. The company's shareholders approved last year a plan to seek a new owner and Go said it received a number of non-binding offers in February. They were granted access to a data room to prepare offers and the bids are now being evaluated. In a trading update, Go also said that it achieved higher revenues and EBITDA in the first quarter, helped by its recent acquisitions. The operator also continued its network upgrade plans in order to meet the strong demand for data services. The FTTH network is now available to over 30,000 households, and the 4G roll-out started in December has reached the last phase of deployment. Go's 4G network will be completed before the summer, it said.
