A US federal court has denied The International Group's motion for summary judgment in a case alleging the wax maker and FPC provided Kellogg with non-merchantable cereal bags. Kellogg Company filed a lawsuit in a Michigan federal court against the Canadian packaging company in 2011, over allegations its tainted packaging cost the food giant millions of dollars and forced it to issue a nationwide recall of breakfast cereals.

Chevron Corp said it would sell a 30 percent stake in its Duvernay shale properties in Canada to Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co for $1.5 billion. Chevron's Canadian subsidiary has exploration leases for about 330,000 net acres in the Duvernay shale formation.

Radio Canada International: Danish-born glaciologist Jason Box who has studied glaciers for two-decades is in the second year of a study called the Dark Snow Project. He is with the Geological Survey of Greenland and Denmark. They found that soot is covering immense areas of the ice-sheet, darkening and increasing its heat absorption, causing melting to increase.
