ANSI Trip to Bejing focused on China standardization reform.

On his trip to Beijing, China from September 21–24, ANSI vice president of international policy Joseph Tretler met with Administrator Tian Shihong and other senior leadership at SAC, IGRS Alliance, and Beijing AQSIQ. Trip emphasized U.S.-China cooperation in ISO and afforded opportunities to network with ANSI members and partner organizations based in China. While abroad, ANSI engaged in discussions with SAC on rollout of standardization reform in China.

ANSI Session highlights standardization efforts, global impact.

Held in Washington D.C. on September 29, 2015 as part of World Standards Week (September 28 to October 2), ANSI's Standards and the Service Economy conference hosted standardization experts from leading companies and standardization organizations. Speakers offered perspectives on how organizational standardization efforts help service providers meet business and economic needs across diverse industries. In all there were 12 speakers from as many companies.

ANSI Invites Comments on ISO healthcare standardization proposal.

Proposal submitted by ISO concerns new field of technical activity on healthcare administration. As U.S. member body to ISO, ANSI invites interested stakeholders to submit comments on said proposal by end of the business day on October 9, 2015. Proposed work program for the standardization of healthcare administration will include classification, terminology and nomenclature, management practices, and metrics that comprise business operations among healthcare entities.

International Association of Continuing Education and Training, a member and accredited standards developer of ANSI, has named Joe McClary its new CEO. Previously, Mr. McClary was CEO of the Kentucky Association of Realtors, where he contributed to writing and passing professional education legislation for state’s real estate licensees. He has also served as first executive director of IDECC, an organization that develops distance learning standards.

IPC, a member of ANSI, has named Philip Carmichael as its president – Asia. ICC has chosen Robert A. Neale as vice president of fire service activities, Christopher E. Ochoa as vice president of government relations for federal activities, and Bryan J. Soukup as manager of government relations for the mid-Atlantic region. In addition, ITI announced that John Lenhart will serve as its director of global policy for China, and CRSI has named David McDonald as its interim president.
