Duke Energy update: Green power program going slowly

Coming up to two years after Duke Energy announced plans to provide clean energy contracts for industrial-sized users, the pilot program remains untapped. In its first annual filing for the Green Source Rider, approved in December 2013, Charlotte-based Duke says it is in negotiations with data centers, manufacturers and college campuses as potential customers.

Reuters: Europe's green transport sector, still in its fledgling stages, is set to receive more regulatory support as the slump in oil prices tempts drivers back to gas guzzlers. Renewable power, such as wind and solar, is an increasingly established technology, competitive with conventional fuel and no longer affected by movements in the oil market, analysts say. The alternative transport sector is comparatively tiny, and more exposed as about 90 percent of transport is fueled by conventional oil....

Clinton Green Street and Sewer Construction Update: January 30, 2015

As part of the Tabor to the River Program, Environmental Services continues construction on the Clinton Green Street and Sewer Project. This project will replace 3,800 feet of sewer pipe installed over 100 years ago, construct 24 green street planters and add two blocks of pervious paving. These improvements will protect public health, property and the environment, and reduce the possibility of sewage releases into streets, homes and businesses.
