Java Team Lead Category Information Technology City Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom Position ID J06151380 Permanent Full Time Position Description Your role will be Team Lead in the Software Maintenance Stream MStream, responsible for defining, producing, and delivering GCS and GMS KMF system maintenance releases within the time and effort budgets allocated in the project plan. Your specific responsibilities will include the following Responsible for providing explanations on the operational impact of any defects found, as well as reporting progress on their resolution. Effective management of resultant actions to avoid SLA breach. Facilitate and lead regular all party ARBs with representatives from ESA, OPS, Astrium, Thales, and other stakeholders. Daily interaction with our two direct customers Thales and Astrium, as well as the European Space Agency, to ensure that software defects reported at any of the European sites are resolved in accordance to timescales specified in our contract SLA. Support the delivery to site of emergency Fast Fixes as required. Be the primary point of contact for the KMFSupport helpdesk for dealing with support issues. Ensure that requests for support are dealt with by the team in a timely manner. Liaise with Operational Release Manager to arrange onsite investigations. Identify and implement improvements to the KMF defect resolution process. Regularly consolidate client anomaly databases with our own to identify inconsistencies in status, and to help reduce the number of open customer ARs. Hold internal NRBs to prioritise and assess new CGI raised ORs. Review outstanding legacy ORs, with a view to closing any issues that have been superseded fixed. Plan and track the activities of a distributed development team situated both in the UK and the Netherlands, in order to deliver the agreed scope of maintenance issues for each release. Engage with the team and release managers to progress technical solutions, and collaborate effectively with other teams within KMF to achieve our milestones. Produce and maintain a detailed defect forecasting model, as well as regular metrics on defect resolution in line with Galileo sw engineering standard GSWS. Support future bid work by providing accurate metrics on OR fix raise rates. Other responsibilities may cover line management, recruitment, budgeting, and management of risk.
