Quarterly Beverage Tracker Second Quarter 2015: Germany

The second quarter of 2015 was characterised by lower levels of industry confidence in an environment of geopolitical uncertainty in the Eurozone.

A new government has come into power, and is aiming to reduce the taxes on beverages, making the soft drinks tax unlikely to stay enforced.

Commercial beverages are down for another quarter, even though there have been generally good weather conditions.

A positive economic outlook combined with warm temperatures saw better consumer moods, and an increased consumer spend.

The weather was very much the same as Q2-14, leading to an average consumption in beverages.
