The Springfield Public Works Office has announced that Union Pacific Railroad will close a portion of its crossing on Ridgely Avenue for repairs. Officials say the crossing on Ridgley Avenue, between North 10th Street and North 11 Street, will be closed on December 30 and 31. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution and slow down near the area.

47th Street Crossing Maintenance Continues an Extra Day

One lane of the crossing will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 4, depending on the weather, while the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad finishes the track repair work, according to the Village of La Grange . Like last week's repair work, one of the two lanes of traffic will be open while the other lane is worked on.
