A major used-car retailer is proposing to build a store on the former State Farm site on Route 23, ending more than a decade of vacancy as, the township continues to attract developers. CarMax, a Virginia-based company, applied to build a store on 1750 Route 23 north, along with a service building and non-public carwash, according to the application the company submitted on June 24. It would be CarMax's first location in North Jersey and the second in the state.
