Pioneer, which has about 230,000 acres in the Eagle Ford Basin according to its website, sold a 45 percent interest in the property to Reliance for $1.2 billion in 2010. The Eagle Ford Basin asset is a three-way joint venture between Mumbai, India-based Reliance; Irving, Texas-based Pioneer, and a division of Mexico's Alpha SAB de CV to help sell its 45 percent stake, the sources said, asking not to be named because the matter is not public.

Powerco Seeks Feedback on Major Transmission Project

The plan is to construct a new connection point to the national grid near Putaruru, Australia, to improve the security of supply to around 11,000 properties in the area. The project would involve a new substation, or a reconfiguration of Powerco’s existing Putaruru substation, and around 3.5 km of new 110-kV circuit. read more

Memphis Light, Gas and Water will this November ask the City Council to raise water rates 2.3 percent beginning Jan. 1 to offset the loss of its largest customer. MLGW President and CEO Jerry Collins told me the municipal utility will lose $2.2 million in annual revenue when Cargill Inc. closes its corn mill later this year on Presidents Island, laying off 440 employees.
New Jersey Transit Sues Insurers Over Sandy Losses, Seeks $300M

New Jersey Transit, the nation's third-largest bus, rail and light rail transportation provider, is suing several excess insurers to recoup additional $300 million for Sandy losses. NJ Transit says its Sandy-related losses fall under the "Named Windstorm" peril in NJ Transit's comprehensive insurance coverage which provides up to $400 million in damage with no sublimit.
