ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - The cost of building the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project has grown by almost 10 per cent to a total of $7.65 billion since June 2014. Nalcor Energy also says the date for when power is first expected to be generated from the project in Labrador has been delayed until 2018.

Notre Dame would build hydroelectric plant under proposal

The University of Notre Dame would build a water-driven power facility through a partnership with the city of South Bend under a proposal submitted to federal energy regulators. Documents filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission indicate Notre Dame would build the 1.83 megawatt facility on the city-owned dam downtown.
