Essential unveils new Project Gem smartphone

(Telecompaper) Essential Products, the smartphone maker founded by Android creator Andy Rubin, has after a long absence from the news circuit unveiled its Project Gem smartphone, with a completely different form factor, the Verge reported, citing Tweets from Rubin. The phones sports a very long and thin shape and user interface (UI). The touch screen has large buttons plus a real button and volume bar on the right edge. It sports a fingerprint divot in the back, below what appears to be a single main camera. The phone comes in a series of bright and shifting colours.

(Telecompaper) Microsoft has unveiled its new Surface Duo, a smartphone with two independent but connected screens that close together like a book. The phone, set to come out at the end of next year, will boast computing power and smartphone functions, and, unlike earlier Microsoft phones, run on Android. The phone was presented during Microsoft's Surface event in New York City.

OnePlus launches 7T smartphone, first TV in India

The device offers some of the features of the OnePlus 7 Pro launched in May, such as a 90Hz screen and triple camera, along with a faster processor and charging and Android 10 pre-installed. The company has launched the new smartphone in the US and India first, with a European launch event to follow on 10 October.
