Suzuki says to buy back Volkswagen stake for up to $3.9 billion

Suzuki Motor Corp is buying back the 19.9 percent stake held by top shareholder Volkswagen AG for up to $3.9 billion, after an international arbitration court last month ordered the German automaker to sell its holding. The Japanese automaker said it will repurchase on Thursday as many as 122.77 million shares at Wednesday's closing price of 3,842.50 yen per share for up to 471.74 billion yen via the Tokyo Stock Exchange's off-hours trading system before the market open.

As part of its expansion plan, Kellogg said it created a joint venture with African food company Tolaram Africa, to develop snack and breakfast foods for the West African market. Kellogg has the right to buy a stake in Tolaram in the future.

Clarin buys 49% stake in Nextel Argentina for USD 178 mln

(Telecompaper) Argentinian media conglomerate Clarin has reached a deal with NII Holdings to acquire a 49 percent stake in Nextel Argentina, with an option to acquire the remaining 51 percent pending regulatory approvals. Clarin said the total amount paid for the stake in Argentina's fourth largest mobile operator was USD 178 million, of which USD 159 million was paid up front, with the remaining amount due within 30 days. NII said the net proceeds received from the transaction will be used to provide additional liquidity to support its operations in Brazil.
