Duke Energy finds 830 private wells near its coal ash ponds

The Allen Steam Station in Gaston County has 410 private wells within a half mile of its coal ash ponds. N.C. officials say Duke Energy has identified 830 private and public drinking-water wells within a half-mile of its 32 coal ash ponds in North Carolina.

The 2014 BDO Biotech Briefing , which examined the most recent 10-K SEC filings of publicly traded companies listed on the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index , found that average R&D expenditures reached $56.5 million in 2013, up from $49.5 million in 2012 and $44 million in 2011.
