Refractory Shapes produce clean, contaminant-free metals.
2014-02-11 14:32:02| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Dense, hard, and chemically stable Cerox® fired refractory shapes are resistant to chemical attack from acids, slags, and gases and come in various material compositions. Fired to temperatures that create strong molecular bonds, shapes provide cleaner, contaminant-free metal desired by end-users in aerospace and automotive steel foundries. Variants include Sillimanite Cerox 200 (74% alumina and fired mullite), Cerox 700 (versatile shape capability), and Cerox 720 (for complex shapes). Adhering to graphite, ceramic cloth, and fiberboard, Pyro-Paint™ 634-AS is used to bond, coat, and seal graphite and refractory materials used in molten metal fluid handling components and structures in foundry applications to 2,300°F. Alumina-silica, fiber-reinforced, ceramic coating also prevents wear and oxidation of graphite impellers at melt line in handling of molten aluminum. Product is formulated with solids content of 61.2% by weight and 63.3% by volume to 400–700 cP viscosity range. Porous Components/Filters are offered in refractory metals.
2013-01-09 14:31:42| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Able to withstand demanding operating conditions, porous metal components and filters are available in various refractory metal alloys – zirconium, titanium, tungsten, molybdenum, and niobium – that exhibit chemical resistance, strength, and thermal stability. Porous components or entire filter assemblies can be designed to meet various flow control or filtration requirements to exacting tolerances and down to sub-micron particulate removal. Melting points range from 2,400°C to over 3,400°C. This story is related to the following:Metal Fabrication | Large Component Metal Fabrication
