Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Be overall responsible for the EMC design of the Spacecraft. Ensure that all relevant system requirements are captured while maximising the use of the industrial file on the project. Timely organisation and preparation of key reviews. Oversee the technical management of Electrical equipment subcontracts through the appointed subsystem architects to ensure on time on cost on quality delivery to the project wrt EMC system needs. Ensure that verification planning and test requirements adequately capture system design requirements. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Extensive experience of Spacecraft system level EMC design and test in a Prime Contractor organisation. Demonstrate a firm understanding of Spacecraft electrical architectures. Demonstrate good time management and the ability to work concurrently on multiple projects. Experience of direct liaison, including presentations, with both Customers and suppliers. Familiarity with Nonconformance Reporting systems, RFDs RFWs. Ability to identify and mitigate risks. The mission is to measure seasurface topography, sea and landsurface temperature and ocean and landsurface colour with highend accuracy and reliability in support of ocean forecasting systems, and for environmental and climate monitoring. The first of two Sentinel3 spacecraft is planned to be launched in mid2015. The Challenge We are looking for an experienced Linux System Administration Engineer who will be working at our customers site, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. As a member of the Computer and Storage Management team, you will provide support for Sentinel3 Ground Segment Commissioning and Routine Operations. The duties range from the support to the operation of the Linuxbased ground segment facilities, to the analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance of distributed hardware and system software platforms. This includes the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures, the support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. Tasks to be performed include installation and configuration of operating system and other software, tuning of operating systems parameters to optimize performance analysis, planning and performance of HW and SW upgrades or reconfigurations, taking care of compatibility issues between subsystems monitoring of the system performance, investigation into HW and system SW problems and performance of the relevant corrective actions ensuring that in case of HW or system SW failures the operational configuration can be restored, including the definition, maintenance, performance of backup procedures liaison with the external providers of HW and system SW maintenance for the request and follow up of maintenance interventions administration of user accounts support to SW development and maintenance in relation to the utilization of system resources implementation and maintenance of scripts andor procedures where applicable for the automated andor controlled execution of the above activities, generation or update of technical documentation in relation to system upgrades provision of standbyoncall support provision of support, as required, to critical operations generate and maintain documentation.
