Do you commute? Final MTA bus study workshop set for Feb. 9

To modernize bus service, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is conducting its Staten Island Comprehensive Bus Study to re-envision how its fleet of 31 local and 20 express routes can navigate Staten Island Island's very old infrastructure. Borough President James Oddo , Councilmen Joe Borelli and Steven Matteo urge Staten Island residents to attend the MTA's final bus study public workshop, which is set for Feb. 9. The last meeting on Feb. 9 will begin at 7:30 p.m., inside Staten Island Technical High School, 485 Clawson St., in New Dorp.

On June 13–14, ISO will hold workshop titled "Global Services - ISO Standards as Solutions". Interactive event will highlight worldwide potential for services standardization as international trade in services becomes a greater driver in economic growth. Group discussion topics will include what elements are most important or expected in provision of a service, which types of services are most often purchased or provided internationally, and how ISO standards support these services.

ANSI ISO Forum (AIF) will meet February 17, 2016 at Georgia Institute of Technology facilities in Atlanta. In conjunction with said event, ANSI will host Secretariat Workshop on best management practices for U.S.-held Secretaries of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Committees and their support staff on February 18 at same location. Registration for both events ends on February 1, 2016.

New program launched by NIMS, Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow (LIFT), and Ivy Tech Community College will train community and technical college instructors as well as industry trainers in industrial technology maintenance (IMT). Scheduled in 2016 from March 21–23 and April 18–20, ITM workshop series will train instructors on how to implement industrial technology maintenance industry standards into curriculum and deliver related NIMS credentials to their students.
